[lang=English]X2BC IDE finally reaches Release-State !

With this tool you can compile/decompile X3 Body and Scene files, to make them smaller. It uses Doubleshadow's x2bc-tool to do this (all nessaccary files are in the archive). This is done with a nice Windows-GUI. Also there is a small Texteditor, to edit the uncompiled files fast.[/lang][lang=German]X2BC IDE erreicht Release-Status !

Mit diesem Programm könnt ihr Body und Scene Dateien compilieren/decompilieren um sie zu verkleinern bzw. sie zu bearbeiten. Das Programm verwendet Doubleshadows Compiler/Decompiler X2BC (alle nötigen Dateien sind im Archiv). Im Gegensatz zu Doubleshadow's Tool, verwendet das Programm eine normal Windows-GUI. Außerdem enthält es einen kleinen Texteditor um schnell die decompilierten Dateien zu bearbeiten.[/lang]

Great news that it is ready for release. Unfortunately I have no idea what it is or what it does.

Care to point me to some info about it all please?

under x2-bod compiler

My programm does the same (using DS compiler) but as normal Windowsprogram

In simple words:

compiling: converting plain-text (.bod) to binary (.bob)
decompiling: converting from binary (.bob) to plain-text (.bod)

The binary variant of a Body or Scene is, in most cases, much smaller than the plain-text variant. So the game can load it faster.

It's a very useful program for converting the model file type in the cat folders (.bob) to a readable text format(.bod) that can also be imported into max/gmax. The old program for doing this ran off the command line and although very useful, was a pain in the arse to fill in. This program with its window makes that a lot easier and faster. Thanks Moonraven, 'so say we all' - yes been watching Battlestar galactica - naughty Savo!!
