In order to keep the Development Blog thread neat and tidy, I propose keeping all discussion about the blog in this thread.

I am curious as to how these asteroid belts will work myself. Sounds like far more work than what was there previously.

There was only one set of asteroids previously. Untested and unsmashed we had 5 variations in the demo map. I will report soon on my success/failure to exactly mirror the originals and their functionallity in the blog itself.
@ Xell is it possible to isolate the blog so that only team members can post there, with responses by the public going here? Thanks

I have edited/updated my last post in the blog - detailing how things are going with the asteroid development...I could not put a proper post there(didn't know how, bear of very little brain:lol )

@Foxpur: I don't think we have any character editors? Currently we are looking at using stills etc..for pics/vids..with a view to something better later on.

She said she could do sketches of characters in her last e-mail. I have recently replied that it would be useful as we could maybe do 3d versions of them in the future when time allows. For the demo we will have to make do with originals or what we have already, there's just no time left for messing about with stuff like this now. I want to fix Jobs, the computer voice (to include our stuff) and then release. I'm a little dissapointed that the demo won't be more polished/finished but I guess that's why it's called a demo. Subsequent releases should fix this I hope.

Exactly a demo is what it says it is, and you have a big advantage over other games in that the X3 community is quite mature in that respect.

A demo is not a good representation of the final product, or at least rarely. So I would not worry too much about completeness, a demo is just a taste of the final product.

One advantage is playtesting, the many fans will quickly find the bugs, problems and inaccuracies that can be missed in development.

As BigBang said, X3 fans are fairly mature and as A2597 said, just a Starfury to fly and a Babylon 5 to ogle at is all that it will take to satisfy us B5 fans.

Which is not to say we won't appreciate all the other efforts and work put into this mod...only that you won't have to worry about us coming back with a "Why can't I do ___?!", we'll be too slack jawed from oogling the station and Omega and busy blowing up raiders!

2.7 is out now.

Generally newer versions have not been too important to upgrade to, but it would be nice if B5 X3 was made compatible as this version does have at least one useful improvement;

- Re-enabled use of more than 2GB RAM if supported by the operating system
